Grand Hyatt Doha recently appointed Mr. Sameh Shawkat to the position of executive assistant manager for sales and marketing. Mr. Shawkat has enjoyed a successful career, with over 15 years’ experience in the luxury hospitality industry.
Mr. Shawkat most recently earned success as the regional director of sales in the Middle East for Hyatt and was responsible for generating business leads to achieve short and long term sales, revenue and profit growth. He was leading contracting from the region to all Hyatt Family brands in the world and overseeing the management and co-ordination of global accounts. This experience will enable him to expand the market and reach of the hotel.
In his new position, Mr. Shawkat will be responsible for all the marketing and sales efforts for the 249-room, 91-residences property. His responsibilities include the overall management of strategic sales, marketing and revenues. He will provide leadership and coordination of company sales and marketing functions, and will also be closely involved with the strategic planning for the hotel, representing the property at all international tourism and travel expositions and fairs.
