At the opening session of an international conference titled, “Jordan: And Arab Diplomacy in the World” experts that argued that Jordan often weathered the storm in a turbulent region due to effective diplomacy. The articles notes the role of Jordanian troops in UN peace-keeping forces, as well as the "Amman Message" which stresses interfaith dialogue and religious moderation.
In a working paper titled, “Jordan: Enhanced Power Through Quality Diplomacy”, former US ambassador to the Kingdom Edward Gnehm points out that location and a lack of resources have not stopped Jordan playing a powerful role in the region.
According to the article, fifty intellectuals, academicians and experts from 23 Arab and foreign countries are expected to deliver working papers and discussions at the conference.
