Kuwaiti artist Yousif Al Omani has filed a lawsuit against Lebanese singer Amal Hijazi and the producing company of her latest album “Waylak Min Allah” (God will punish you) accusing them of stealing his songs “Qalbi Mu’athab” (My suffering heart), which was done in the Moroccan accent. Yousif stated that he had released the song in debate in 2005.
Yousif added that he had written and composed the song himself, and was shocked to discover that Amal had included it in her latest album with the exact same lyrics without making any mention to his name as rightful owner of the song. The only information that was given about the song is that it is taken from Moroccan folklore, a matter that infuriated Yousif.
Yousif formally addressed Amal and producing company demanding a public apology for taking the song without his permission and stating that he is the owner of it. Yousif was informed that his demands would be met, but until this moment no action was taken leading Yousif to file a lawsuit.
