Prominent Syrian actor Khaled Taja known as the Anthony Quinn of Arabic drama has passed away at the age of 73. The late actor had been hospitalized the past two weeks after a severe deterioration to his health condition and had remained in the Intensive Care Unit.
The actor’s funeral ceremony was attended by large numbers of stars, politicians and VIP figures. Stars were said to be shocked at the loss of Taja and grief and shedding of tears clouded the ceremony. Among the stars that insisted on bidding Khaled a final farewell were Syrian actors Ayman Zaydan, Duraid Laham, Muna Wassif, Qusai Khouly, Abbas Al Nouri, Talal Mardeeni, Yazan Al Sayed, Rasha Sharbatji, Milad Yousif, Shukran Murtaja, Saed Fiddah, Tamer Ishaq, Ghassan Mas’oud and many mojre.
Khaled’s journey in the acting world lasted for more than 55 years, in which he took part in plays, films and television dramas.
Family of the deceased will be accepting condolences at the Al Hassan Hall in Damascus.
