Egyptian actress Laila Elwi has expressed her sentiments to
oust Egyptian President Husni Mubarak, who is said to be very ill, and opposed
having put on trial for corruption and crimes against Egyptian citizens. Laila said
that despite the fact that she strongly believes Mubarak is guilty of
corruption during his reign; she is against calls to have him put on trial due
to his health condition and old age.

According to the internet website MBC.net, Laila said that
Islam is a forgiving and merciful religion and people should treat Mubarak
accordingly.
Laila denied her silence in the recent months as fear of
being blacklisted by people and boycotted for supporting Mubarak and his former
government. Laila revealed that she went through difficult times during the
January 25 Revolution that overthrew the government of Mubarak that led to
insecurity in the streets of Egypt.
