The internet website “Ana Zahra” had posted that Egyptian businessman Hisham Tal’at who is imprisoned after being found guilty of murdering Lebanese singer Suzan Tamim has escaped from prison and gone to London. It was said that Hisham was able to escape amidst the chaos that occurred inside prisons in Egypt due to the protests that are currently taking place in Egypt.
When the news of Hisham’s fleeing was released, his wife denied the news during a phone interview on the news television channel ‘Al Arabia’, but sources confirmed that Hisham escaped. It was added that his wife’s statements were made in order to keep officials from going after her husband.
Hisham was serving a 15 year jail sentence after he was found guilty of second degree murder of Lebanese singer Suzan Tamim.
Egyptian newspapers had stated that while in prison, Hisham had turned his cell into a five star hotel using his money to make all the necessary accommodations. Hisham was also given special treatment while in jail allowing him privileges not given to any other prisoner.
