Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak on Wednesday held talks with Prince Saud al-Faisal, Saudi Foreign Minister regarding the latest developments in the Arab arena, particularly in the wake of the extraordinary Arab summit, which was held over the recent weekend in Sirte, Libya. Prince Saud al-Faisal told a news briefing following the meeting that the talks dealt with the most important issues related to the Arab arena, notably the Palestinian question, the situation in Lebanon, Iraq and Sudan, noting that the meeting confirmed the identical visions shared by Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
In response to a question about the Iranian president's currentvisit to Lebanon, the Saudi foreign minister said: "The visit led to considerable momentum in Lebanon, but the important thing is the result. God willing, the results of this visit will bring the the same positive momentum with respect to the the domestic peace in Lebanon."
Ahmed Aboul Gheit, the Egyptian Foreign Minister, said after the meeting, President Mubarak received a message from King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz. The Saudi message dealt "mainly with issues regarding to the Arab situation."
