Contradicting reports on the situation in southern Syria. Reuters reported that at least six people were killed early Wednesday when Syrian security forces attacked protesters who had taken refuge in a mosque in the center of Dara’a.
Meanwhile, Syria's state-run TV reported that a group of armed men attacked an ambulance in the southern city of Daraa, killing four people. The report said "an armed gang" attacked the ambulance and killed a doctor, a paramedic, a driver and a policeman on Wednesday. However, the protesters said the the doctor at the city’s main hospital, Ali Nassab al-Mahameed, was shot and killed as he was trying to rescue others. It was not known how many people were wounded in the attack.
The attack took place in Daraa, where security forces killed seven protesters over the weekend. According to the TV, security forces were able "to kill and wound" some of the attackers.
