Iraqi singer Shatha Hassoun has headed to the kingdom of Bahrain to hold a private performance at a wedding in Al Manama. The singer has recent came from a tour around the United States of America.
After her performance in Bahrain, Shatha went off to Dubai to record 5 songs for her upcoming album, which features songs mainly in the Iraqi and Khaliji (Gulf) dialects. She also met with a number of poets and composers to select the remaining songs for the album. The singer will launch the album on her birthday, March 3, 2011 under the production of ‘Live Star’.
According to the London based Elaph, Shatha is also scheduled to travel to Morocco to finalize the details for the filming of the song “Ard Al Habayb” (Land of loved ones) in the form of a music video. The lyrics were written by Shatha and composing was by Lebanese singer Marwan Khoury.
