Nama chemicals announced today that it’s wholly owned subsidiary Jubail Chemical Industrial Company (JANA) has awarded Jacobs Engineering Group the contract to provide technical and project management services for its existing Epichlorohydrin plant expansion and for the new Epichlorohydrin plant in Al Jubail.
Under the terms of the contract Jacobs Engineering Group Inc is providing technical and project management services for both inside battery limits (ISBL) and outside battery limits (OSBL). Jacobs’ scope also includes cost estimates preparation and the project management support for JANA’s new Epichlorohydrin plant, to be built at the same site in Jubail. This expansion is intended to support the planned epoxy expansion to reach 240 K ton annually.
Mr. Abdulmohsin Al-Ogaili, CEO Nama Chemicals stated “The expansion projects are part of our plans for 2011 and are expected to provide high quality epoxy resins and intermediates to the markets we serve and add value to the Kingdom’s economy, as well as providing additional employment for the region. This is an exhilarating time at JANA and we are all looking forward to building a long term relationship with Jacobs Engineering Group Inc to support our current and future projects.”
