The prestigious Banker award was presented to Fawzi Dajani, NBK London GM, on behalf of NBK, at a glittering awarding ceremony specially held last Thursday in London for the occasion and attended by a host of international and regional senior bankers and executives.
The new award reflects unprecedented global consensus on selecting NBK as the best bank in the Middle East for 2010 by the three largest international institutions; "The Banker", "Euromoney" and "Global Finance" that selected NBK as the Safest Bank in the Arab World for the second consecutive year. NBK also has been consistently awarded the highest credit rating of all banks in the region by the major international rating agencies; Moody's, Standard & Poor's, and Fitch Ratings.
In selecting NBK for the award, The Banker said that NBK is not only the dominant bank in Kuwait but is also an expanding force in the Middle East. NBK deservedly won the title of "The Bank of the Year in ME and In Kuwait" for 2010 mainly due to its strong performance prudent risk approach as well as its local and regional leadership.
