A member of Algeria's security forces was killed and four other people were injured in two attacks in Algeria this week that have been blamed on armed Islamic extremists, newspapers reported Saturday.
The member of the security forces was killed and three others injured when a bomb exploded as they were patrolling in the Edough hills, near the town of Oued El-Aneb in the Annaba region, some 600 kilometers east of Algiers, the papers reported.
Meanwhile, in another incident, an armed civilian guard was injured when a group of men opened fire on him in the Ain Defla region, around 160 kilometers east of Algiers, the papers said. (Albawaba.com)
