Syria's President Bachar al-Assad held talks in Damascus on Tuesday with a top Iranian official on a number of issues including the situation in Iraq, officials said.
Assad and Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Mohammad Sadr discussed "the situation in Iraq and questions of common interest," an Iranian official said.
Sadr, who arrived in the Syrian capital on Monday evening for a two day visit, also delivered a message from Iranian President Mohammad Khatami. (Albawaba.com)
