Bahrain is currently preparing for choosing members of the new Shura council, reported ArabicNews.com, quoting officials as saying.
It added that the Emir of Bahrain Sheikh Hamad bin Issa al-Khalifa would issue a decree to appoint them in coming September.
The new appointed council will comprise some young members in addition to nearly 10 women, said the agency.
Meanwhile, the officials said that "members of the next council in 2004 will be appointed, however, through direct elections."
Women will be allowed to participate in the next elections, one official told the agency - Albawaba.com
