Mirdif City Centre staged an exhibition of artwork by hearing-impaired artist Nada Shehab last week aimed at encouraging others living with disabilities in the UAE to showcase their talents.
A collection of 28 landscapes and still-life artworks by the Sharjah-based artist were on show, and Ms Shehab also held live painting sessions at the mall, allowing visitors to witness her creative abilities at first hand.
Artworks in the exhibition were on sale, with all proceeds going to the Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, a local charitable organisation founded in 1979 which provides services to more than 2,000 people with disabilities in the UAE.
Commenting on the exhibition, Yousif Al Ali, Vice President of Mirdif City Centre, said: “Mirdif City Centre is committed to giving back to the community, and the work produced by this talented artist is truly inspirational. We hope the exhibition will encourage others with disabilities to realise their creative talents. Our customers have certainly enjoyed viewing Ms Shehab’s paintings.” Mirdif City Centre partnered with Decision Makers TV, Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services and National Paints to host the exhibition, which ran until the 22nd of April.
