Gulf Bank has announced that it has officially launched a new human resources development program, ‘Mentoring For Success’, that aims to enhance and develop the Bank’s existing and prospective talent. ‘Mentoring For Success’ is a structured, expert led and project managed mentorship program where mentors and mentees are identified, selected, developed and retained. It focuses on proven methodology that enables employees to develop a mutually rewarding and value driven mentoring relationship.
Under the new program, volunteers from the Bank’s leadership team will use their own experience, skills, knowledge, and behavior, to help guide employees in making effective business driven decisions. Pairs of mentors and mentees will be meeting on a regular basis to assess their current status, and further build on their relationships.
Surour Alsamerai, General Manager, Human Resources at Gulf Bank said: “Mentoring for Success is not just another HR concept; it is a comprehensive program, with expert tools, techniques and training that are provided to all of our staff. It successfully integrates classroom, with hands on training and management experience, in order for mentees to convert their skills and knowledge, into effective results. It is also beneficial for the Bank to be able to objectively measure the return on investment through continual assessments.”
This is a significant accomplishment for the Bank which has had a long-term strategy of recruiting and developing the best local talent, and of investing in community initiatives that encourage young people to join the banking sector. The program was officially launched at the Marina Hotel, where senior executives of Gulf Bank’s Learning and Development team were responsible for pairing mentors with their appropriate mentees.
