The award was presented by Edmund O'Sullivan, Chairman of MEED Events during the inauguration of the three-day Middle East Retail Banking Conference 2010 that opened today at the Crowne Plaza on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. A host of distinguished leaders and VIPs in the retail banking industry from across the region are participating in the event that aims to explore macro-trends, tools for customer attraction and retention, technology and its impact on the banking industry, as well as key market sectors and product lines that contribute to the growth of retail banking.
Ibrahim Dabdoub, Group CEO, National Bank of Kuwait, said: "Over the past five decades, I have grown with the region's dynamic banking industry, having witnessed several peaks and troughs with the changes in the global economic and geo-political landscape. While it was their passion for this industry that kept banking professionals motivated, it is a combination of the fresh perspective and traditional foresight that will continue to fuel growth over the years. I would like to share this honour with my esteemed colleagues at the National Bank of Kuwait who have constantly delivered this mix."
"It is truly a pleasure to be presented with an award by a prestigious publication such as MEED. It is extremely humbling for me to be considered for this distinction by an organisation renowned throughout the region for its pioneering work across the sectors."
MEED's Middle East Retail Banking Conference is widely regarded as one of the industry's key networking platforms that will identify key trends for the industry and generate credible market intelligence.
