Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said in an interview with a Turkish daily published on Thursday that Iran would respond "violently" to any attack. He stressed that his country is always ready for war. Salehi's remarks came following Israel's test of a ballistic missile capable of reaching Iran and amid Israeli and foreign media reports on the preparation for an attack against Iran.
The Iranian minister said in the interview: "Israel always threatens Iran. This is not new for us. We hear threats from Israel for about eight years."
On his part, Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman said the media reports about Israel's intention to launch an attack against Iran, was "severely damaging". He said that 99% of these reports are unfounded.
