Israeli Foreign Minister Shimon Peres and Jordan's King Abdullah II are due to meet privately on the sidelines of a development conference in the United States, Israeli officials said. Peres and the king are to meet in the western US ski resort of Aspen, Colorado on Tuesday on the fringes of Fortune magazine's Brainstorm 2002 meeting of top thinkers and political leaders.
"There is going to be a private meeting between the foreign minister and King Abdullah tomorrow (Tuesday)," an Israeli diplomat in Los Angeles told AFP. The Brainstorm 2001 conference united top statesman and policymakers including former US president Bill Clinton and his onetime secretary of state Madeleine Albright.
