British secretary of defense Geoffrey Hoon met in Kuwait on Tuesday with deputy Prime Minister and minister of defense Sheikh Jaber al-Mubarak al-Hamad al-Sabah for talks on matters of mutual concern.
A statement issued by the moral guidance and public relations department of the Kuwaiti army said the talks dealt with defense and military cooperation and the exchange of military expertise within the bilateral security agreement in addition to the latest regional developments, according to Kuwait News Agency.
The meeting was attended by the defense ministry undersecretary Sheikh Sabah al-Naser al-Sabah, acting head of Sheikh Jaber's office major general Faleh al-Shatti and British ambassador to Kuwait Richard Miur.
This marks Hoon's second visit to Kuwait since he came to office in 1999. His first visit to Kuwait was in February 2000. (Albawaba.com)
