Kuwait's Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmed al-Sabah said there is no pressing need to set up political parties in the emirate, reported the BBC.online.
Sheikh Sabah was quoted as telling Al-Arabi magazine that "Kuwait was like a single family, and the creation of political parties could sow dissent and discord."
But he insisted this did not mean the absence of political pluralism, said the BBC.
Islamic, liberal and tribal political groupings are active in the Kuwait parliament, which is the only elected parliament in the Gulf emirates, the BBC said - Albawaba.com
