The violence in Syria escalates on a daily basis. At least 47 people died on Tuesday including 14 members of the regime's security forces who were ambushed by armed gunmen in the south of the country, an activist group conveyed, according to Reuters. The London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that among the dead were 23 people died in fighting with the army in the northern province of Idlib.
Yesterday some 100 were killed in clashes across the country.
Meanwhile, the Arab League said an advance mission of monitors would travel to Syria on Thursday to lay the ground for observers overseeing a plan to which Syria agreed on Monday.
