The U.S. president  is set to arrive in Israel on Wednesday for the first leg of his regional tour  but he is coming to the troubled region without either a Palestinian peace plan or ideas on a nuclear Iran, Al Jazeera reported.
According to the BBC, officials back in the States are trying to keep expectations low, as there are no concrete ideas for how to re-start the peace process between Israel and Palestine .
Direct talks between the two leaders fell apart more than two years ago.
The tour marks President Obama's first visit to the region  after taking office. He is expected to discuss the Syrian conflict and the potential problems Iran's nuclear program while here.
Following his meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, Obama will head to Ramallah in the West Bank to speak to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
