Earlier in the day, clashes left a 23-year old Palestinian reportedly shot in the foot by live ammunition during confrontations that erupted between Israeli soldiers and Palestinians in the industrial zone of Jenin.
Reports close to the scene told Palestinian media that a modest Israeli elite military force entered the area spurring clashes with the residents.Fadi Abdul Latif was the young man shot in the foot and taken to hospital, said the sources.
A number of other people were also mildly injured from tear gas and rubber-coated metal bullets.
The report that rioting Arabs scared off an IDF vanguard on Thursday, January 3, about to carry out an arrest near Jenin, in Samaria, has since been denied by the Israelis.
The troop of soldiers from elite units, reportedly met with about 500 rioters who came at them with rocks and burning tires rolled in their direction. The soldiers hit back with anti-riot gear and left the location arrest- mission unaccomplished .
Earlier in the week on Tuesday night, IDF soldiers and border patrol successfully completed a mission in an Arab village near Jenin, in northern Samaria (Shomron),  where they arrested several operatives associated with Islamic Jihad.
The soldiers, who were operating in the village of Tammun, left the village after quelling a flare-up by villagers.
