Press reports on Sunday calimed that Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi contained a state of anger and resentment, which became apparent during the opening session of the Arab summit and asked Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to stay in Sirte. This came after Abbas on Saturday afternoon told his companions to immediately prepare leaving Libya.
Al Quds Al Arabi newspaper has quoted sources as saying the Libyan leader and Abbas held a meeting behind closed doors in order to contain the negative feelings that appeared on the face of Abbas during his participation at the summit. Abbas' idea of leaving the summit was aimed at protesting against his reception in Sirt. The sources said the Libyan leader explained that his apparent reluctance to personally welcome Abbas at the airport upon arrival, didn't reflect any political position.
