Saudi security forces have located large quantities of weapons in the capital Riyadh belonging to al-Qaeda network, an Interior Ministry spokesman said Sunday. The official Saudi Press Agency quoted Maj. Gen. Mansour al-Turki as saying the discovery included 281 assault rifles and 51 ammunition boxes.
According to the AP, Al-Turki said police learned about the cache after investigating a group of al-Qeida suspects detained in August. He stated the weapons were found buried in a vacant house in the capital. According to him, police forces are searching for the owners of the house whom they suspects of having links with al-Qaeda.
