Sudan People's Liberation Army (SPLA) said it was ready to enter a direct dialogue with the National Congress Party Leader Hassan Turabi, reported Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), quoting a statement as saying.
The statement said the SPAL was ready to launch a dialogue with Turabi to reach a national formula to unite Sudan on a democratic and just basis.
Turabi, who was removed as house speaker by president Omar Bashir last December, has recently said SPAL leaders were not separatists, and that he was contacting them to work out a comprehensive settlement for the Sudanese conflict, according to KUNA.
Meanwhile, Turabi announced last week that he will boycott the country’s general elections due to take place in mid November – Albawaba.com
