At least five people were killed Tuesday in a rebel attack on a regime stronghold in Syria's capital, according to Agence France Presse .
Syria's state news agency SANA reported that rebel fire targeted the Damascus area of Kissweh , leaving five dead.
In related news from Syria, a car bomb in the city of Homs left one dead and 14 wounded, according to the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
Homs has been a frequent target for car bombs since rebel troops withdrew from the city earlier this month.
Regime forces also attacked the rebel-controlled town of Mleiha  Tuesday with three missiles. It is not yet clear how many people were affected in the attack, according to the AFP report.
The death toll from last Friday's bombing in Hama  also rose to 43 Tuesday, including 11 children, reported the Observatory.
