Syrian President Bashar al-Assad arrived in the Qatari capital of Doha Thursday for a two-day visit, and has already met with the Emir, Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, an official in Doha said.
Both leaders discussed the "situation and the dangerous developments in the region, as well as the challenges in the occupied Palestinian territories and in Iraq," the officials said.
The Syrian President is accompanied by Foreign Minister Farouk al-Shara, Minister of Commerce Ghassan al-Refae'i and Tourism Minister Saed Allah Agha al-Qalaa, SANA reported.
Meanwhile, Syrian Foreign Minister Farouk al-Shara told journalists that a number of bilateral accords would also be signed in the course of the visit. (Albawaba.com)
