A Palestinian was killed Friday by Israeli gunfire during clashes in the Rafah refugee camp in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, hospital officials said.
Ziad Halil Abu Jazae, 22, a camp resident, was hit by several bullets, the officials said, following what witnesses and military sources said was an exchange of fire between Israeli soldiers and armed Palestinians.
His death brings to 275 the number of people killed in eight weeks of violence, most of them Palestinians.
Earlier, 14-year-old Palestinian Eisar Hasis was shot dead by Israeli troops in clashes on the outskirts of the northern West Bank town of Jenin,
Soldiers also shot and killed Ghasan Majid Qorani, 20, during clashes in the nearby town of Qalqilya, and another two Palestinians were injured.
Also Friday, an Israeli was killed when his car came under fire from Palestinian gunmen near the West Bank town of Nablus on Friday, a military source said.
The man, a civilian employed by the Israeli army, was driving near the Arab village of Awsarin south of Nablus when he was shot in the stomach, even though he was wearing a bullet proof vest.
None of the other three passengers in the vehicle were injured.
A total of 34 Israeli civilians, Jewish settlers and soldiers have been killed since the unrest began.
Another Palestinian, Firas Sabahneh, 25, was shot dead by Israeli troops in a night-time army operation near the Jewish settlement of Ganim near Jenin.
The army also announced it had arrested several activists from the militia wing of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat's Fatah faction, which Israel dubs "Tanzim." -- GAZA CITY (AFP)
