Kuwaiti police have detained three Saudis, including a woman, and a Kuwaiti on charges of raping and murdering a six-year-old girl, the Kuwaiti interior ministry said.
The girl was abducted on May 1, and then raped and stabbed to death by two Saudi brothers, their female cousin and a Kuwaiti man, the ministry said in a statement. Her body was eventually found two days later.
The ministry alleged the Saudi woman took the girl, identified as Amna Al-Khaled, from her home to a supermarket, where the three men drove her to the Saudi-Kuwaiti border, according to AFP.
The two Saudi men are accused of raping her. One of them allegedly stabbed her to death, and the Kuwaiti, using the same knife, then cut her throat, the ministry said. It said the four accused have confessed.
Newspapers have said the girl was either a Kuwaiti or a stateless person. The Arab Times newspaper said the two Saudi brothers may have committed the murder after learning that their cousin was romantically involved with the victim's brother. (Albawaba.com)
