International Saudi football star, Yusuf al Thunian, won't be putting on his cleats again this season.
The team's president, Amir Bandar Ben Muhammad, said the decision was made to suspend al Thunian after he refused to follow club rules. The main factor behind this is a dispute between the players and the management regarding their contract. Al Thunian called on his teammates to strike in protest of the management behavior.
Riyadh daily reports that the president said he was very sorry to take this decision against the team captain and most prominent player. According to Amir Bandar, al Thunian apologized and requested to return to the club but so far his request was refused. Al Thunian's suspension is just another event in Hilal's ongoing domestic turmoil.
