Large quantities of gas, recently discovered in the southeast provinces of Hadramout and Shabwa, and the northeast province of Ma'rib in the Republic of Yemen , Have raised interest in the country's burgeoning oil and gas industry.
The Ministry of Oil and Minerals in the Republic of Yemen has invited major oil and min-erals companies to explore the sector, through the 3rd International Yemen Oil, Gas and Minerals Conference. The two-day conference will be held on October 18th – 19th, 2010 at the Movenpick Hotel, Sana’a, Republic of Yemen.
A host of new projects will be announced by the government in off-shore exploration, on-shore production, refinery projects and gas blocks. Delegates will get a glimpse into the latest incentives in production sharing agreements (PSAs), new research on the future of Yemen's oil and gas reserves and a strategic outline of governmental goals to fuel growth in Yemen's oil, gas and minerals sector.
The two-day conference is held under the auspices of H.E. Ali Abdullah Saleh, President of the Republic of Yemen. With strong government support, the event aims to create favorable conditions for co-operation between the Republic of Yemen and leading international companies. The conference is also a major part of the government's strategic initiatives to encourage economic stimulus and act as a catalyst for building long-term business partnerships.
Present at the event will be key decision-makers from key government departments including the Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, the Minister of Oil and Minerals. Eminent speakers at the conference will showcase strategic presentations to reveal new initiatives, announce new projects and discuss incentives in production sharing agreements (PSAs).
