Is this all about Palestinian versus Jordanian identity matter?
Trying to wait for the dust to settle on Jordan's March 25 weekend but anxious to speak out and name the elephant in the room: (those resenting the Palestinian Jordanian affiliation, but perhaps says Haitham, they mistake 'Palestinian' for Ammanis.
"What happened last Friday was a shock no doubt, and I do understand the drama that followed, even though it was a bit exaggerated. I mean to lose faith in our preparedness for democracy and in our status as educated and civilized people is what those who were behind the thuggery are aiming to. I hope we are back to our rationality now and ready for the second round. Even if we did not sober up yet, I had this encounter with one of my old friends that expedited my decision to write this post, which I wanted to postpone until we wake up from the shock."
On the perpetrators or proponents of 'love Jordan or leave it':
"They blame Palestinians for stealing their money. But what they call Palestinians, it seems to me, are actually Ammanis. They feel that they are being ignored and denied opportunities in favor of their peers at Amman."
Just when I thought it's common sense...A helpful pointer in list format of the most direct path to losing a close friend.
