Tottenham ’s Gareth Bale has reaffirmed his desire to play for a foreign side at some stage in his playing career, insists he remains focused on achieving success at his current club.Bale has been linked with a big-money summer to Spanish giants Real Madrid, as well as Spurs’ Premier League rivals Manchester United.
And while the recently awarded FWA and PFA Player of the Year has refused to downplay his ambition of playing abroad, he stresses his sole ambition at this moment is to help Spurs improve.Bale told Sky Sports: "I have said in the past I would love to experience playing abroad. You can never tell what the future holds, but at the moment I am concentrating on what I am doing here."It gets asked a lot at the moment, but it is something I am not thinking too much about at the moment. My mind is not wandering anywhere."We have a job to do. We set a goal at the start of the season and we want to achieve it."Winning is a massive thing and playing against the best teams is what a footballer wants to do. The Champions League is a massive thing. "We have been there before, playing against the best teams in the biggest stadiums, testing ourselves."Despite a superb season, the 23-year-old still believes there are areas where he could improve his game, adding: "I need to work a lot on my right foot."Sometimes I get a bit of confidence with it. But it can be a bit all over the place. I will look to strengthen it over the summer and work on it in pre-season."
