Chelsea are undefeated in their last three matches and will be looking for a fourth straight match to earn them points. Having gotten the club back into the top four, Jose Mourinho will be pushing for his side to get further up the table.
Demba Ba is expected to be at the top of the attack, while Juan Mata and Oscar are both also headed for a first team start as Marco van Ginkel and Fernando Torres are both unavailable.
German international wide player Andre Schurrle is believed in line for a first team start ahead of Eden Hazard after scoring a hat-trick against Sweden on Tuesday evening.
Ashley Cole is also believed to be ruled out for at least this weekend and should see Ryan Bertrand get another chance to impress.
Chelsea will be the heavy favorites to take the three points, but Cardiff have been more tricky than could have been expected at times this season and could be a perky visitor at Stamford Bridge.
