While many club's these days have been finding ways to send their elder statesmen on their way for the arrival of new fresh young talent, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho continues to put faith in the leaders and legends that have always worked hard to earn him results.
Although Cole has been on the outs at times with Mourinho according to the press this year, the still first choice England left back continues to be regarded as one of the best left defenders in all of football.
John Terry continues to look as on form as ever as the recently turned 33-year-old defender only seems to get better with age as he still can out muscle some of the best strikers in the world for the Blues.
Frank Lampard as well seems to roll back the clock again and again as he has scored some of his most impressive goals as the age only ticks up. Even at the age of 35, Lampard is still one of the best midfielders in the game and his experience continues to help make up for any loss of step in his aging body.
In an age when it is all about the newest and brightest talent, it is great to see a manager continue to keep the faith with his veteran corp of stars that have been doing the business for years.
Once again it seems Mourinho is taking a chapter from his respected advisory, Sir Alex Ferguson and keep the faith in those over the age of 30.
