Liverpool target, Martin Montoya is rumors to be heading out of Camp Nou. The Liverpool Echo is reporting that the young Spanish fullback has turned down his latest contract offer and declined to extend his stay with Barcelona .
Brendan Rogers targeted Montoya in the January window, possibly looking for a replacement for the aging Glen Johnson.
However, talks eventually dwindled down, and nothing could be concluded before the window closed.
Rogers is rumored to be set to make another bid for the 22-year-old Spaniard when the summer transfer window opens up in July.
Montoya has played 34 games for Barcelona and has been in the youth system since 1999. A true Spanish product, Montoya looks determined to find a club where he can fight for regular first team football and looks convinced that it won't be coming anytime soon with Barcelona.
The rising prospect has been capped at multiple Spanish youth levels, but currently is playing at the senior international level for the Catalonian national side. If this sounds a bit odd, the Catalonia national football team is a team representing the autonomous community of Catalonia. This national side is not recognized or affiliated with FIFA or UEFA.
