Manchester City [2] and Ivory Coast midfielder Yaya Toure [3] has seen off competition from the likes of Didier Drogba [4] and Alexander Song [5] to win the coveted African Player of the Year award for second time in a row.
The 29-year-old, who helped guide Manchester City to the English Premier League title last season, enjoyed a stunning year with the club.
The Ivorian, who overcame fellow countryman Drogba and Cameroon's Song, was obviously touched after being confirmed as the winner.
"I have a lot of emotion," CNN.com quoted Toure, as saying.
"I think this night is so special for me," he added. (ANI [6])
