The struggling Old Trafford side is seeking to prove that they are still the biggest name in world football by renewing an arrangement with Nike, which will bank more than 60 million pounds-a-year over the course of a decade-long agreement.
According to the Mirror, the amount is almost double the current best kit manufacturing deal, which sees Real Madrid earn 31million pounds from their arrangement with Adidas.
United's current 23.5 million-pound-a-season deal with Nike, which is less than Real, Arsenal, Barcelona and Liverpool, is reportedly set to expire next year after completing its 13-year agreement.
With a 35 million pounds-a-year short sponsorship deal with Chevrolet set to kick in next season, it is clear that United can ride out the financial problems caused by a failure to finish in the top four this season, the report added. (ANI )
