Bahrain's Maryam Yusuf Jamal [2] has become the darling of Bahrain athletics as she secured a bronze medal - Bahrain's first medal at Olympics - last night in the women's 1,500 metres in a dramatic finale to the race at the Olympic Stadium in London.
The 27-year-old, who was ranked ninth out of the 13 runners based on personal best times this season, was leading after the 300m mark, with Gamze Bulut [3] of Turkey close by.
