Walcott, 23, is in the final year of his contract and snubbed a 75,000 pounds-a-week offer earlier in August.
"I always said I want to keep him. Apart from the contract talks we have to give him credit for the way he is committed to the team and the way he behaves," The Sun quoted Wenger, as saying.
According to the report, the Gunners boss has already warned that he wants the saga to be resolved by the end of November.
And asked whether Walcott's man-of-the-match display at Reading will bump up the club's contract offer, the Gunners boss paused before saying, "I will speak to my finance minister," the report said. (ANI )
