Ten al-Qaeda members were arrested by the Yemeni security services in Hadrmout province, east Yemen, the Ministry of Interior said on Sunday. According to SABA, the Ministry stated that the security forces had raided a house where elements of an al-Qaeda cell were hiding in Fuh, located to the west of the city of Mukalla in Hadramout.The security forces raided the house where a group of four suspects was hiding in west of Mukalla, clashed with them and arrested two. The forces detained eight other members of the cell in several security operations.The cell was planning to target security bodies and vital installations in Hadramout.The security personnel found an explosive belt ready for use, grenades, a laptop, a number of SIM cards and video tapes.The al-Qaeda cell included a Saudi national. They refused to surrender and started shooting and throwing grenades at the security forces that were besieging the house. Two of the security personnel were killed and two gunmen were wounded.The security forces arrested these two, while two other gunmen managed to escape.
