Wataniya Airways was voted “Best Kuwaiti Airline” in the 2010 annual Service Hero awards at a gala awards evening held at the prestigious Arraya Ballroom in Kuwait. The airline was also honoured by third place overall in Service Hero’s annual customer satisfaction survey, which assessed over 400 different firms in more than 15 sectors.
Receiving the Best Local Airline award, George Cooper, Chief Executive Officer of Wataniya Airways, said: “We are extremely proud of this recognition. Wataniya Airways is a young company and still developing, but as Kuwait’s premium service airline, we strive to offer our guests the highest quality of service possible, from the minute they choose to fly with us to the moment they arrive back. This accolade is a tribute to all our hard working staff and the pride and commitment we all have in the quality of service we provide and in the comfort of our guests. We thank our guests for their trust and support and pledge to continue to maintain the service standards they enjoy with us and continuously work to improve them.”
The airline’s third place in the overall satisfaction assessment was a reflection of staff behavior, location, product and service, quality, value to price, speed and reliability and was based entirely on the opinions of customers who completed the online questionnaire.
Service Hero is the first annual customer satisfaction index in Kuwait to be based entirely on consumer votes. Votes were collected online in October 2010 and covered 15 private sector industries. The categories assessed by consumers were - cafes, casual dining, fine dining, fast food, retail, home furniture, local airlines, retail banks, Islamic banks, new car sales, car service centres, electronics, hospitals, internet service providers (ISPs), and mobile phone operators.
