Saudi Arabia displays beheaded Yemenis in public

Saudi Arabia on Tuesday beheaded five Yemenis and displayed their bodies in public for killing a national and forming a gang that committed robberies across several towns in the kingdom, the interior ministry said.

The five were executed in the southwestern town of Jizan, bringing the number of people executed in the kingdom this year to 46, according to an AFP tally.

A witness in Jizan told AFP that the five men were displayed in public near a university.

Three members of Lebanon's militant Hezbollah group died of wounds sustained while fighting for control of strategic Syrian town near the Lebanese border, the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said Tuesday, as the battle in the area raged for the third straight day.

Dozens of people, mostly combatants, have been killed in ongoing battles for the Syrian town of Qusayr, as Hezbollah sent new elite fighters to the rebel stronghold.

At least 12 killed on fresh day of deadly violence in Iraq

A series of bomb attacks rocked Iraq on Tuesday, leaving at least twelve people dead, Reuters reported.

The latest attacks come a day after 70 people, mostly Shi'ites, were killed across the country in a wave of bomb blasts.

Three roadside bombs exploded close to a livestock market in the northern city of Kirkuk, killing six and wounding many more. Two car bombs were also detonated in Tuz Khurmato, in the same province, killing three.

Meanwhile a suicide bomber killed three Iraqi soldiers at a checkpoint north of Baghdad.

A 66 year-old Tunisian man has died from the coronavirus, following a visit to Saudi Arabia, according to a Health Ministry statement.

The man's two children were also diagnosed with the virus but have since undergone treatment and recovered.

Turkey arrests car bombing suspect

Turkish police sources said on Tuesday that they have arrested a "prime suspect" in relation to the car bombings that killed 51 people in a small town near the Syrian border on May 11.

AFP reported that the man, who is of Turkish origins, was apprehended whilst trying to cross into Syria with two accomplices.
