Participants at Sharjah Golf & Shooting Club Summer Camp 2011
Sharjah Golf & Shooting Club, the premier one-stop venue for a vast range of recreational facilities, both indoor and outdoor, organized today an event to announce the closure of the 4th Summer Camp 2011, which was held at the Club premises. More than 300 students attended the camp this year.
The event highlighted the camp’s objectives, which were achieved through a host of sporting, entertainment and cultural activities, as well as social and national awareness campaigns.
Commenting on the occasion, HE Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdullah Al Thani, Managing Director, Sharjah Golf & Shooting Club said: "Each year, our Summer Camp continues to offer activities that are in line with the UAE leadership’s wise directives to motivate future generations and focus on investing their free time in physical and mental activities that will benefit them and help hone their talents.”
The Camp aimed to maximise the daily schedules of young people during the summer holidays. They were encouraged to manage their time positively as they interacted with each other, forming new friendships and strengthening social relations. The Camp also helped them learn new physical skills, including horseback riding, shooting, swimming, and archery.
Other sporting activities included aerobics, yoga, recreational games and football, while cultural activities included recitations from the Holy Qur’an.
At the event closing, Al Thani extended his heartfelt thanks to all the supporters of the 2011 Summer Camp, praising their active involvement in serving the UAE community’s youth, both nationals and expatriates. He thanked all those present for their commitment to making this meaningful youth event a success.
The Sharjah Golf & Shooting Club will also be organizing educational field trips on a weekly basis outside the club.
