A spontaneous protest in Syria?

They chant “the Syrian people will not be humiliated”, interspersed with, “shame, shame” and “with our soul, with our blood, we sacrifice for you Bashar”. That’s a very Syrian way of saying they were furious at the police, not the president.

In October I wrote about the case of a 19-year old female blogger who was arrested on vague charges in Syria. My views on her actions are clear, but I criticise heavily the way she is being treated, and for what?

Everyday or so I get an e-mail from back home, family, friends, friends of parents asking how things are in Jordan? Well as the "Arabic Spring" and its revolutions continue to sweep over the Middle East, I thought I would just reassure everybody, Jordan is quiet.

On Thursday, The Lede continues to follow protest movements in Bahrain, Libya, Yemen, Iran, Iraq and Egypt.

I still don't think it's fair to include Jordan in this list as many global news agencies did, this list imply revolutions against Presidents or State Heads, which is not the case in Jordan.
