Arsenal's Ozil back from injury and preparing for Stoke
Arsenal star Mesut Ozil looks set to return to first team action this weekend against Stoke after joining in training on Wednesday morning. The German international has endured a difficult several of weeks on the pitch and missed Saturday's 4-1 win over Sunderland due to injury. Many believed that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger purposefully rested Ozil, as the club's record signing is yet to have a break this season and has seemingly found transitioning to life in the Premier League somewhat difficult.
The German's penalty miss against Bayern Munich in last week's Champions League match didn't help matters, as much of the press and even some fans have started labeling Ozil a flop since joining from Real Madrid this summer.
Ozil's return will come as a big boost for the Gunners who are currently in second place in the Premier League. Though the likes of Aaron Ramsey and Theo Walcott still remain sidelined, Ramsey looks set to make a return to first team action in the coming weeks. The Welshman stormed out of the gates at the start of the Premier League season, scoring and creating goals in nearly every match he played in, but injury has set him back in recent months. His return will give Wenger more options in the midfield as the Gunners look to continue applying pressure on league leaders Chelsea.
Ozil today posted the below photo on Facebook stating that he'd returned to training and was looking forward to this weekend's match at the Britannia stadium.
Do you think Ozil should play against Stoke City, or do you think Wenger should put out a team similar to the one he played against Sunderland? Ozil has been criticized this season for not being strong enough for the Premier League, and Arsenal will need all the tough guys they can put together when they visit Stoke this weekend. Who would you like to see start in the midfield?
