Bale believes Tottenham's spirit will guarantee them top-four finish
Tottenham midfielder Gareth Bale believes the togetherness in the Spurs squad will help them on their way to Champions League qualification.
The Welshman also says Spurs remain intent on going all the way in the Europa League this season, beside their domestic efforts.
The 23-year-old is counting on the team's spirit to help to glory on both fronts, starting with their Europa League quarter-final against Basel on Thursday.
"We are a very close group as a team. At some places there's little groups here and little groups there but we have got a great team spirit and we want to take that into the rest of the season," Bale told Eurosport.
"The main thing for us is that we don’t get carried away. We're comfortably able to finish fourth in the league and competing for third - we've got to take it game by game.
"We can push on in the Europa League as well against Basel. Our away form has been very good - we showed that against Lyon. We want to do as well as we can in both competitions."
Bale has been one of the standout players in the Premier League this season, prompting many to make comparisons between himself, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
The former Southampton man rates the Liga pair as the world's best and vows to continue his rapid improvement in an effort to reach their level.
"Ronaldo and Messi have set the standard as the best players in the world, and everyone wants to play like them", he added.
"Year by year I'm improving and I can still improve."
