Atletico Madrid star Koke has revealed that he is not ready to move from the Vicente Calderon. This statement will come as a major blow to Manchester United and Barcelona. Both these clubs are thought to be heavily interested in the 22-year-old Spaniard, who came to the fore this campaign. Koke was a major reason towards Atletico winning the league title and reaching the Champions League final.

He may have scored only seven goals in 49 appearances last season, but he also contributed through 15 assists as well. This has led to transfer rumours linking him with Manchester United and Barcelona. However, Koke said:

“My future is with Atletico. I am happy in my club and now I have a deal and do not think about an exit.”

Koke will be involved with the Spanish national team at the World Cup 2014. He says that he is only concentrating on the tournament right now. "Really my head is only focused on the work for Spain in Brazil 2014,” Koke continued. “My dream is to win this title with minutes in the game, although that depends on the coach. I have arrived to the team and each day I learn many things, especially about players such as Xavi and Iniesta."

Manchester United are thought to be keen on revamping the midfield with a couple of signings capable of not only scoring goals that also creating them as well. Koke is one of the transfer targets, while Barcelona have also emerged into the picture in the last few weeks. The Catalan club are close to confirming the exit of Cesc Fabregas to Chelsea.

Even though they are about to sign Ivan Rakitic from Sevilla in a £20 million deal, a new player to replace Xavi Hernandez is also high on their priority list. Xavi is tipped to move on from the Camp Nou after almost two decades at the club.

Koke is unlikely to be a main player at the World Cup 2014 given that Vicente del Bosque is likely to go with experienced players like David Silva, Xavi, and Andres Iniesta in the centre of the park.

Spain kick-off their World Cup defence with a match against Netherlands on June 13.
